Summary: Throughout the article, the author talks about the many mistakes the Americans have made while trying to take over the Philippines. The Americans did not realize how many people would be lost while trying to take over the Philippines. Not only would the people die in the war that is currently going on to try to take them over but they would also die from the harsh climate that they were not used to. The author mentioned that the people of America wanted another nation to be free and not by force. The situation was similar between the other nation and the Philippines. The Author wanted the Americans to leave the Philippines.
